Fort Glanville run 25\02\25

Fort Glanville run

Well it turned out to be a great day weatherwise and a very interesting outing indeed.

We left OTH at 0945 and drove down to St Georges Cafe on Philip Highway Elizabeth  for a top morning tea.

After that stop we went on down to Fort Glanville just off Military Road Semaphore.

Most of us have driven past the Fort but we never thought about what was behind the walls.  Anyhow we were given a talk about the heritage of this establishment and were taken around for a very good look at the large area of the Fort and the various areas where ammunition and cannon services were  located.

After a good look around we all drove along the sea front to the Largs Pier Hotel for lunch.

This hotel is worth a look as they don,t build them like that anymore.

Our member Chris S. arrived then after sailing his yacht around Awesome Mawson Lakes.

The club members enjoyed a top lunch there and thanks go to Gerry S  for her organisation of this run.

Cheers Bruce & Anne
